Allowing: The Forgotten Final Step
Posted on December 15, 2007 in Laws Of Attraction by byronb
“Ask and ye shallreceive.” It’s a true enough statement, that’s for sure. But in terms ofhelping you to actualize the kind of life you desire, it may be a bitmisleading, or at the very least incomplete. For it implies that manifestingyour desires is a two-part process when, in practical terms, it may be betterunderstood as process in three steps:
- You ask- usually without even asking as the very acting of wanting something isreceived by the all-powerful creative source as a request or, maybe more aptlyput, an order;
- Your”wish” is granted - you need to do nothing for this happen as it’s anautomatic and instantaneous result of step 1
- Youeither allow it or deny it - like a gift, you either accept it or refuseit.
The reason, then, for the appearance of so many of ourdesires NOT being granted is our own resistance to having what we asked for.
If you have ever desired something and then sometime laterstarted noticing the failure of that desire to be fulfilled, you are actuallypushing the fulfillment of that desire out of your present reality. Observing, for example, that a lack of resources for the attainmentof your desire creates that lack - not the other way around. Not only doyou perpetuate the absence or lack by observing it, but you cause it.
For that which you desire is alreadyyours, the instant you want it. But your participation in receiving itdoes not stop there. To the contrary, by fixating on a desire alreadytransmitted, a want already wanted, you draw yourself continually back to theawareness of your current state of NOT HAVING it.
You do yourself the same disservice by being unhappy aboutwhere you currently are and hinging your happiness on the arrival of yourdesire, by being impatient with the “wait” for it to come, by being jealous ofsomeone else who already has what you want.
Instead what you must do is trust that yourrequest/wish/order has been received and approved and now your only job is toprepare yourself to receive it. How is this done, exactly? Bygetting your whole being in agreement, into vibrational alignment, with theattainment of that desire.
Imagine you’ve ordered a very expensive item from animporter. Once the order is complete, all you have to do is waitfor it to arrive, right? But what if you’ve given the store the wrong shippingaddress? Or what if you’ve given the right one, but aren’t home when thedelivery is scheduled to arrive, and you haven’t made any allowances for thereceipt of that package; you haven’t asked a friend to wait at your home toaccept the package for you; you haven’t given the delivery person alternatedelivery instructions or a way to contact you. Maybe you moved, and in all thecommotion forgot the order was even coming. Or maybe you flat-out decided youchanged your mind and didn’t want it anymore, refusing the package upondelivery.
None of these instances change the fact that what you askedfor was given; they only change your ability to receive that which you askedfor. It’s the same with the total manifestation of your every desire. Tofulfill this all-too-often forgotten final step in the attainment of all thatyou desire, simply allow yourself to bask in eager anticipation of what itfeels like to know that they’ve already been granted.
Ask and it shall be given; experience the pleasure of havingthat which you’ve asked for, and ye shall receive.
