Stress Fighting Tips

Posted on May 9, 2007 in Life by byronb

Our lives today are so hectic and full of stress, placing relaxation, fun and contentment all on back burners. But now it’s time for all that to stop.

Get a firm grip on relaxation and even fun and fight back. Squeeze in quick warm bubble baths, watch favorite short television shows with your loved ones and check out good paperbacks for sunny – and rainy - days.

Note that while these mini-aids can be great, deep relaxation needs to last a lot longer than the short baths, movies and reading snippets allow. Real in-depth relaxation helps you to calm down inside, actually feel calmer, and handle situations that are stressful with a greater deal of ease. Plus over time, you can make you feel an overall sense of general happiness and become a healthier being. To reach this relaxation stage throughout your self, learn different forms of meditation and find one that works best for you through a coach, if necessary.

Other ways to calm your self are through journaling. And some people actually head online for this and use blogs for writing out their information, details that can be shared with the general public. They invite comments form others who’ve maybe been there, done that, and want to offer advice, feedback and other comments. And in turn, these bloggers head to fellow blogging sites to help their friends, too.

Plus many choose regular fitness activities and exercises to help work the body and deal with distress on better levels. Note that handling stress needed to be part of your lifetime goals and commitments so that you can always handle change, a constant in life. As you age, experiment with alternative or different types of coping and management skills, different journaling, activity and exercise methods for dealing with stress.

If you can do any number of inner relaxation techniques to help you handle stress and life better, great. Then you are lowering your stress levels and hence even reducing your risks for many stress-related illnesses.

This means in the future, you should be better able to deal with difficult situations better, even while your smile and laugh them off at times, remembering your old days of heavy stress and reactions to it.

Always keep in mind that when you do have a stressful situation, begin by taking deep breaths. This will help you calm your body, then your mind will follow.
